Juventus close in on €50m payout from Champions League participation

Juventus’ dramatic 3-2 win away to Bodø/Glimt did more than deliver the first European victory of the Spalletti era, it also pushed the club’s Champions League earnings close to the €50m mark.

The Bianconeri needed a stoppage-time strike from Jonathan David to seal the points in Norway, after Lois Openda’s first goal for the club and Weston McKennie’s first of the season.

The result ended a run of three draws and one defeat in the League Phase.

But the night was equally significant off the pitch, according to the latest reports from CalcioMercato.

The victory generated around €2.1m in prize money, taking Juve’s total earnings from match results to €2.8m across games against Sporting CP, Villarreal and Borussia Dortmund.

The loss to Real Madrid did not produce any payout.

Those figures sit on top of UEFA’s fixed revenue streams:

Overall, Juventus have earned approximately €48.52m from the competition so far. A further minimum of €275,000 will be added at the end of the League Phase depending on their final position.

Juventus now prepare to host Cypriot side Pafos, whose squad includes former Chelsea defender David Luiz.

That match comes just three days after their Serie A meeting with Napoli on 7 December.

The European campaign will resume in 2026 with back-to-back fixtures: a home match against Benfica on 21 January, followed by a trip to Monaco on 28 January for the final League Phase game, which will ultimately determine whether the Bianconeri progress.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. Continental stakes raise the intensity, where away goals no longer apply but margins still feel razor thin. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
