Ederson agent calls Barcelona: ‘Atalanta drop asking price by half’

Ederson agent calls Barcelona: ‘Atalanta drop asking price by half’

The agent representing Atalanta midfielder Ederson warns his asking price will be cut to ‘between €30m and €40m, and he’d adapt well to Barcelona.’

The Brazil international had already been approached by numerous clubs over the summer, including Juventus, Inter, Manchester United and Chelsea, although La Dea were unwilling to part with another of their big names.

The situation may well change over the next few months, because his contract only runs to June 2027.

That is acknowledged publicly by agent Andre Cury on Cadena SER, via Football Espana.

“A player I think could adapt very well to Barça’s system, contributing a lot of physicality and stamina, is Ederson, who plays for Atalanta,” said Cury.

“It’s an opportunity because his contract is expiring. Atalanta hasn’t wanted to sell him despite receiving very high offers. I think they’ll complete the transfer in this winter or summer window.”

The representative is even giving tips on how much the asking price will be for the 26-year-old midfielder at the end of this season.

“[Atalanta were asking for] a lot of money, between €60m and €75m. He’s close to the end of his contract, they could reduce his price by half, to between €30m and €40m, but he’s a spectacular player with some of the best stats in Europe for his position.”

He was purchased from Salernitana in 2022 for €22.9m and has struggled with a few injury issues so far this term, but still made 11 competitive appearances between Serie A and the Champions League.

Ederson is expected to start in this evening’s Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.

He’s no stranger to Barcelona, having scored in Atalanta’s 2-2 draw there last season.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
