Inter president Giuseppe Marotta has heaped praise on young striker Francesco Pio Esposito, who continues to shine both for the Nerazzurri and for the Italian national team.
Speaking at an RCS event, Marotta highlighted the young forward’s rapid rise and the symbolic value of a homegrown player breaking through at the highest level.
“Esposito was already something of a predestined talent for several years, even when he was just a kid in the youth academy,” Marotta said, with quotes via FCInter1908, reflecting on a player who has impressed at every stage of his development.
“We are proud not only that he wears the Inter shirt, but also that he is a player who comes from our youth sector.”
Marotta underlined how Esposito’s emergence provides inspiration for the next generation at Appiano Gentile, reinforcing Inter’s long-term strategy of investing in academy pathways.
“This is an important example – there must be a sense of emulation for our youngsters, because if they want to, they can go very far and represent not only a great club like Inter, but all of Italian football.”
Esposito has enjoyed a breakout campaign, earning his first senior Italy call-ups and becoming one of Serie A’s standout young forwards.
Marotta’s comments reflect Inter’s growing belief that the teenager could become a central figure for both club and country in the years ahead.
