Juventus can let out a sigh of relief as Dusan Vlahovic is not expected to be sidelined as a result of the knock he picked up while on international duty with Serbia earlier this week, but his availability for Saturday’s Serie A match against Fiorentina is still in doubt according to the latest updates.
Vlahovic led the line for Serbia as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against England last Thursday, but was unable to make the matchday squad for Sunday’s 2-1 win over Latvia due to an adductor strain.
The Bianconeri striker was back in Turin on Monday and has since reported for medical tests. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, those checks did not flag up any major injuries: There is no tear to the adductor, it is only a matter of fatigue and Vlahovic should be able to go again before long.
Still, Vlahovic is expected to train individually for the next few days, which means that he is still a doubt for Saturday’s game against Serie A strugglers, Fiorentina.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, much will depend on Vlahovic feels in himself in the days leading up to the Fiorentina bout.
Given that Juventus are about to enter one of the busiest periods of the season, with eight games within the next month, Juventus are unlikely to take any unnecessary risks with Vlahovic against Fiorentina.
