Contract talks stall: Chelsea & Arsenal handed huge boost in pursuit of €90m transfer

Chelsea and Arsenal may reportedly have been handed a huge boost as Kenan Yildiz’s talks over a new contract with Juventus seem to have stalled.

There has supposedly not been any progress on a new deal for the Turkey international with the Turin club, and this will likely have big-name suitors on alert.

That’s according to a report from respected Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, who name Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid as clubs who could battle it out for his signature next summer.

Yildiz has been the subject of transfer speculation for some time after impressing with Juventus, and he’s not a player they’d want to lose to a major European rival.

As previously reported on the Daily Briefing, the asking price for Yildiz could be around €90m, so this is still not a deal that can be done on the cheap.

Still, one imagines that kind of money shouldn’t be a big problem for clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid, who will want to be bringing in the very best players in world football.

Yildiz is still young and learning the game, but undoubtedly looks like one of the top prospects in Europe right now.

If things aren’t progressing well with Juve then that will surely open the door for others, and it’s easy to see how the 20-year-old could be a good fit for any of those aforementioned big clubs.

There are good reasons to go to any one of Chelsea, Arsenal or Real Madrid, so it’s not a bad problem for Yildiz to have.

Chelsea’s long-term project around young players should afford Yildiz an opportunity to play regularly and develop, while the Blues also increasingly look close to winning major trophies under Enzo Maresca.

Arsenal would be another winning project, with Mikel Arteta’s side surely on the verge of glory and only likely to come even closer with the addition of a top attacking talent like Yildiz.

Meanwhile, few players can turn down a big name like Real Madrid, who have also done well to build around young players in recent times whilst remaining competitive in the biggest competitions.
