Napoli have released a statement confirming that coach Antonio Conte will not be back at the training ground until Monday November 17.
Many of the players are currently away on international duty, so there is a very limited squad remaining at Castel Volturno.
They were guided today by assistant manager Cristian Stellini and the rest of the staff, but Conte was nowhere to be seen.
With controversy and rumours already swirling around the club, Napoli decided to get ahead of the story by releasing a formal statement.
“Napoli have resumed training today, the Azzurri were involved in an afternoon session, doing some activation exercises, followed by technical and tactical work.
“Mister Antonio Conte, as already planned and agreed for some time with the club, will return to SSC Napoli Training Center on Monday November 17.”
The Partenopei will be back on the field with a Serie A showdown against Atalanta on Saturday November 22, which is also the debut of new Dea coach Raffaele Palladino.
They have stuttered recently with back-to-back 0-0 draws against Como and Eintracht Frankfurt, followed by a 2-0 defeat at Bologna.
That was their fifth competitive loss of the season from a total 15 games in Serie A and the Champions League.
