Nicolò Cambiaghi has suffered a minor calf injury and won’t be available for Italy’s games against Moldova and Norway, while Riccardo Calafiori trained separately on Wednesday and is expected to miss tomorrow’s game.
Italy are preparing for Thursday’s World Cup qualifying game against Moldova, but coach Gennaro Gattuso received bad news this morning.
As reported by Tuttomercatoweb, Bologna winger Cambiaghi is heading back to his club after suffering a minor calf injury. For now, the winger won’t be replaced by Gattuso.
Cambiaghi was included in the team earlier this week following an injury to Moise Kean.
Arsenal defender Calafiori trained separately at Coverciano on Wednesday morning due to a hip problem.
According to the report, Calafiori won’t be available against Moldova tomorrow, but will work to get in shape for Sunday’s home game against Norway.
The Azzurri will travel to Moldova today, and Gattuso will provide the latest team news at a press conference this evening.
