Roma striker Artem Dovbyk has suffered a rectus femoris injury, which will force him to the sidelines for four to six weeks, reports in Italy claim.
Roma’s centre-forward Dovbyk is expected to remain out of action for over a month after suffering an injury during the Giallorossi’s 2-0 win over Udinese on Sunday.
Italian media, including Sky Sport Italia, report that the Ukraine international underwent medical tests on Monday morning, but the outcome was quite negative as examinations highlighted an injury to the tendon of the left rectus femoris muscle.
According to Sky Sport Italia, this means that Dovbyk will miss four to six weeks of action, leaving Gian Piero Gasperini with few options in attack.
Evan Ferguson is also on the treatment table due to an ankle injury, while Paulo Dybala and Leon Bailey are recovering from muscle problems.
Tommaso Baldanzi was introduced as a substitute on Sunday to replace Dovbyk.
Roma’s win over Udinese allowed the Giallorossi to jump to the top of the table, level on 24 points with Inter.
