Fiorentina reportedly have two paths ahead of them as a crisis meeting takes place with the club’s leadership: either dismissing Stefano Pioli now and facing the financial consequences, or giving him one last chance against Mainz and Genoa before the international break.
After a 1-0 defeat at home to Lecce on Sunday, pressure has mounted more and more on Pioli, with fans calling for the head coach to face the same fate as Daniele Pradé, who was dismissed from his role as sporting director on Saturday.
According to Italian journalist Nicolò Schira on X, Fiorentina are leaning towards parting ways with Pioli as soon as possible but are aware of the hefty severance payout needed to terminate the Italian’s €3.2m per season deal until 2028.
Whilst a crisis meeting takes place between club executives this evening, the final say will reportedly go to club president Rocco Commisso.
The Italian-American businessman will give his verdict, presumably later in the night, that will confirm whether or not Pioli has been shown the door or will be given one final chance to turn his second spell with the club around.
