There are reports that Luciano Spalletti’s contract with Juventus includes only an option to extend beyond this season, which will not be automatic.
The club announced this evening that the former Napoli and Italy tactician had been appointed as their new coach, having fired Igor Tudor on Monday.
It was confirmed this contract was only to June 30, 2026, as expected.
However, while it was assumed there would be an automatic option to extend if Juventus qualify for the Champions League, that might not be the case.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the contract includes an option to extend, but it will not be automatic.
This gives Juve some leeway to interrupt the relationship even if he manages to get them into Europe’s top competition at the end of this season.
