Juventus’ ultras group announces protest for Lazio game: ‘Silent’

Juventus’ ultras group announces protest for Lazio game: ‘Silent’

‘Black and white’, one of the Juventus ultras groups, announces its members will remain silent in tomorrow’s game against Lazio due to the ‘disastrous’ ticket allocation for the latest away match in Madrid.

A group of Juventus ultras won’t support the team at the Olimpico tomorrow, when Igor Tudor’s side visit Lazio.

The ‘Black and white’ complained in a statement about the ticket allocation for Wednesday’s away game against Real Madrid at the Estadio Bernabeu, suggesting that many of its members were not able to purchase them despite having priority as season ticket holders.

“We want to clarify that we’ll be in Rome as usual, but we’ll remain silent. Supporting Juventus for 90 minutes is what belongs to us the most, and we’d love to do it every time, everywhere. But it’s also fair to protest when things don’t go the right way,” the group said via TMW.

“What happened with the management of tickets for Madrid, with information coming from different sources and situations, was not only disastrous but also disrespectful towards season ticket holders who (theoretically) have priority when it comes to buying tickets for European matches.

“This didn’t happen, and it wasn’t just the ultras who were affected, but also people who follow Juventus and thought they had the same rights as those fans who participated with a debatable ticket allocation.

“Those who pay for a service with priority would expect that everyone has the same right to buy a ticket at the same time and under the same conditions as others. There have been too many unusual situations, and we can’t accept them.

“Clearly, we don’t want to have any sort of favouritism; we just ask that everyone, either ultras or ordinary fans, is given the same opportunity and rights when buying tickets,” continued the Juventus ultras.

“We know it’s hard to remain silent in a game like Lazio-Juventus, but sometimes it’s more important to demonstrate against injustice than act like nothing happened.

“We hope those in Rome understand our motivations, realising that it’s not a protest for us, but it’s a silence that must make everyone understand that rules must be the same for everyone.”

Juventus have gone seven games without winning as their latest victory dates back to September 13 against Inter.

The Bianconeri have also lost two consecutive matches against Como in Serie A and Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The away end at the Olimpico will likely be sold out tonight, but many of its members will likely remain silent.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
