Zion Suzuki has been linked with Milan and Chelsea, but he remains focused on ‘Parma and the World Cup’ and wants to become ‘one of the best goalkeepers in the World.’
Parma star Suzuki released an interview with Corriere dello Sport amid links of a possible move to Chelsea or Milan in the summer.
The Rome-based newspaper claims that both sides have been scouting the Japan international in recent weeks.
“I want to become one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and I’m very focused on Parma and the World Cup,” Suzuki said.
The Parma goalkeeper went on to explain his training routine at the Stadio Tardini: “Today I did some exercise with special glasses and alternating lights to improve my reflexes. I train, as I was saying, and then I study English and Italian. Pilates improves posture and flexibility, and it strengthens the core.
“I’m a calm person; a goalkeeper always has to be,” he continued.
“I cover the goal, and I can play with my feet. I work every day to improve in every aspect.”
Suzuki had played with Ange-Yoan Bonny last season, and the Frenchman joined Inter last summer.
“A big step for him. Playing with him for a year, I realised how strong he is. We’ll meet again only in January,” concluded the Parma goalkeeper.
Suzuki has entered his second season at the Stadio Tardini and has kept two clean sheets in seven Serie A matches this term, saving a penalty kick against Genoa in the latest league game.
Parma, coached by Carlos Cuesta, a former assistant coach of Mikel Arteta at Arsenal, have collected six points in the opening seven Serie A games.
