MTN Elite U-19 Championship kicks off in Prampram on Friday

The 2025 MTN Elite U-19 Boys Championship begins on Friday, October 24, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, with Eastern Region facing Upper West Region in the opening Group A match.The curtain-raiser will be followed by a Group B clash between Volta Region and Ashanti Region, before Northern Region take on Western Region. The day’s action will conclude with Greater Accra meeting Upper East Region in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.All participating teams arrived on Thursday and took part in a mandatory orientation session that highlighted discipline, fair play, and professionalism ahead of the tournament.The championship features ten Regional Football Association (RFA) U-19 teams and serves as a key platform for unearthing future national stars.Sponsored by MTN Ghana, the event is a major part of the GFA’s “Power to the Youth” initiative, aimed at nurturing young talent and creating a clear pathway from grassroots football to the professional level.
