
Igor Tudor did not hide his feelings when discussing Como and their head coach Cesc Fabregas prior to Juventus’s 2-0 defeat at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Sunday. It’s difficult to believe that Jonathan David, Edon Zhegrova and Lois Openda have all immediately become duds at Juventus. But Igor Tudor has choices to make, and it would be better to make them without aiming digs at Damein Comolli or Cesc Fabregas.
Prior to the meeting of Como and Juventus on Sunday, Tudor raised eyebrows by labelling his opponents a ‘fake small club’, while adding that they ‘spent a lot, and most importantly, the coach chose all the players that they signed’.
The back story is that Tudor wanted to keep Randal Kolo Muani over the summer due to his goalscoring record and technical abilities.
He had also asked for a new midfielder, which did not come off during the summer transfer window. Additionally, Tudor, ideally, would not have swapped Alberto Costa for Joao Mario. It’s little surprise that the latter has scarcely been used in recent matches.
The controversy with Fabregas, however, is tiresome and leads nowhere, especially considering that Como are doing extremely well and have made good on all of their transfer operations.
