Italian referee Maurizio Mariani and his assistants have been chosen by FIFA to officiate the Under-20 World Cup Final between Argentina and Morocco.
The official has been given the honour of taking charge when the two youth teams go head-to-head at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martinez Pradanos in Santiago de Chile on October 19 (October 20 at midnight UK time).
Mariani is going to be assisted by Daniele Bindoni and Alberto Tegoni, also from Italy.
Joe Dickerson and Logan Brown of the United States of America complete the officiating team.
The 43-year-old from Rome had already been given the job of officiating the Coppa Italia Final in May 2025, where Bologna beat AC Milan 1-0.
He was also assigned the King’s Cup Final when Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Qadsiah 3-1 in May 2025.
So far this season, UEFA gave Mariani the job of a big Champions League game when Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid in a 3-2 thriller last month.
