Christos Mandas had been the subject of several Premier League offers over the summer, but is reportedly now ready to move on after losing his Lazio place.
The goalkeeper was promoted to take the gloves under previous coach Marco Baroni, with performances that earned him proposals from the likes of Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The club decided to keep hold of him, believing that his value could further increase on the transfer market, but the situation has been transformed in the last few months.
Maurizio Sarri returned to the Stadio Olimpico and has chosen Ivan Provedel as his first choice goalkeeper, sending Mandas to the bench.
Considering they failed to qualify for any UEFA competition, it means the opportunities for squad rotation are very limited, so the Greece international has not played a minute of football this season.
With that in mind, the Corriere dello Sport warn that Mandas has lost patience and is ready to push for an exit in the January transfer window.
Lazio in turn believe they can make a healthy profit on a player who was purchased for only €1.3m from OFI Crete in September 2023, although they won’t get the reported €20m that Wolves were offering a few months ago.
In turn, his exit can help balance the books and allow the Aquile to buy new players, as over the summer they were blocked by a transfer embargo for breaching financial fair play rules in Italy.
