Juventus have confirmed a new serious injury to veteran goalkeeper Carlo Pinsoglio, who is expected to be out for a couple of months.
The 35-year-old sustained a problem during the training session on Tuesday and had tests today at the J|Medical centre in Turin.
A statement from the club confirms the tests revealed a medium-to-high grade injury to the medial gastrocnemius muscle in his left leg.
More tests are required after a period of two weeks to ascertain the extent of the problem and how long he will be out for.
However, the initial reports from Sport Mediaset suggest this type of injury means at least a couple of months on the treatment table.
A product of the Juventus youth academy, Pinsoglio is something of an additional member of staff at the club, kept around for years largely for his locker room influence and team bonding skills.
However, this might be an issue because second choice goalkeeper Mattia Perin has also been struggling with injury so far this season, leaving only Michele Di Gregorio.
