The Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has heaped praise on Black Stars head coach Otto Addo for leading Ghana to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following the disappointment of missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in over two decades, Addo masterminded the teams resurgence, guiding the Black Stars to top Group I with 25 points and secure a spot at next years global showpiece, which the United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host.
Speaking after Ghanas qualification, Mr Adams lauded Addos leadership and tactical acumen, while revealing that the coach took issue with his previous description of him as a lucky coach.
Otto Addo has now become the first coach to qualify Ghana for consecutive World Cup tournaments, having also led the team to the 2022 edition in Qatar during his first spell in charge.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will learn their group-stage opponents when the World Cup draw is held on December 5.
