Everton and West Ham are keeping tabs on Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee ahead of a possible January move. Zirkzee is out-of-favour at United, and is considering his options ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

He joined United in the summer of 2024, but had to settle for a backup role to Rasmus Hojlund. Hojlund has now departed the club, but summer signings Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha now lead the line for the Red Devils. Zirkzee has made just three Premier League appearances for United this season, all from the substitutes bench.

TeamTalk has reported that Zirkzee is now weighing up a move away from the club and will consider staying in the Premier League. Everton and West Ham United have asked to be kept informed about his situation, as both sides are looking to add firepower in January.

West Ham previously tracked Zirkzee while David Moyes was the manager, and Moyes’ interest remains at his current club Everton. West Ham have struggled this season and currently sit second to last in the table.

They’ve only managed six goals with half of them coming from skipper Jarrod Bowen. Everton have impressed this season and find themselves in 8th in the table. Goals have still been relatively scare however, with just nine scored. Only one of those goals has come from an established striker following Beto’s strike against Wolves on matchday 3.

Both clubs are in need of attacking reinforcements and are also understood to be considering a move for Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
