Everton’s new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has started brightly.
Under David Moyes, the Toffees have shown real progress, climbing to eighth in the Premier League and playing some of their most confident football in years.
The atmosphere around the club has lifted, thanks in no small part to Jack Grealish, who joined from Manchester City in the summer. The England star has hit the ground running, recently scoring the winner in a 2–1 victory over high-flying Crystal Palace, further endearing himself to the Goodison faithful.
Yet Moyes, back for his second spell in charge, knows his team are still a few steps away from recapturing the consistency that once made Everton a top-five contender during his first tenure.
With that in mind, the Scotsman is already planning for January — and one of Grealish’s former teammates could be next through the door.
According to a report from Football Insider, Everton are preparing to make a move for Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips when the transfer window reopens.
