Ahead of their Matchday 6 top spiel against Bayern Munich this evening, Eintracht Frankfurt have a bit of soul searching to do after their hefty 5-1 midweek defeat to Atlético Madrid.
The Hessen club’s head coach Dino Toppmöller was ready to move forward and briefly discussed how he will approach the game against the reigning Bundesliga champions.
“The respect we have for them [Bayern] needs to disappear at kick-off. We need to make them feel that they have to respect us,” he said during his Friday afternoon press conference.
“We know that we’re facing a team with incredible quality. But it’s up to us to battle hard and to play well. If we do that, we’ll see what we get out of it at the end.
“I expect us to go into the game with the attitude of wanting to show everyone what we can do and to win this match. That’s what I want to see.
“It’s about commitment and power, and the energy that we want to generate in our stadium,” the 44-year-old added.
When asked about how he plans to deal with Bayern’s talisman Harry Kane, Toppmöller stated that there are more than one threats in the Bavarian ranks.
