Pressure is mounting on Augsburg coach Sandro Wagner, who has managed just three points from his first five Bundesliga games in charge.
After a promising 3-1 win over Freiburg in their opener, Augsburg have suffered four straight defeats, most recently a painful 2-1 loss against Heidenheim.
Despite the poor run, Wagner continues to enjoy the full backing of the Augsburg bosses – but improvement is urgently needed on Saturday against Wolfsburg.
“We’ve started a path together, and we’ll continue on it. I expect us to analyse things properly and clearly push ourselves to our performance limits,” Augsburg sporting director Benjamin Weber told Sport Bild.
“External pressure is, of course, increasing. On Saturday, we have to deliver. We need to reverse this trend,” Weber added.
Wagner succeeded Danish coach Jess Thorup in the summer.
