Hertha Berlin have suffered a slow start to their 2.Bundesliga campaign as they find themselves dwindling in 15th-place after six games.
However, all hope is not lost for club talisman Fabian Reese. The captain believes a turn in fortune is still possible under Stefan Leitl.
“It’s very difficult. We set ourselves high goals, but so far we haven’t achieved much,” Reese told news magazine RBB.
“I’m obviously very dissatisfied with the current situation. […] I haven’t shown what I expect from myself recently.
“But I also believe that I’ve been spoiled by my own performance over the last two years,” he said, which is a phase below his “full potential”.
“For various reasons, we’re not managing to consistently bring the energy onto the field,” Reese added, after stating he has “100% faith” in Leitl.
At least there’s some slight positivity on the personnel front as Jeremy Dudziak looks set to return to the German capital club.
