Wolfsburg vs. RB Leipzig preview: Visitors looking to extend winning streak

After opening the season with one win and two draws, VfL Wolfsburg suffered their first defeat last weekend, falling 1-0 away to Borussia Dortmund.

Currently sitting 11th in the Bundesliga, Die Wölfe will be looking to respond at home on Saturday and put an end to a four-game losing streak against RB Leipzig. 

The visitors won the most recent meeting between the sides 3-2 at the Volkswagen Arena back in April.

Wolfsburg head coach Paul Simonis is fully aware of the quality of the opposition.

“RB Leipzig have a team with a strong attack. They have good players with a lot of physical strength and individual quality,” Simonis said at his pre-match press conference.

“I think it will be an open game. I hope we can show the best version of ourselves – and then we’ll always have a chance to win.”

Full-back duo Kiliann Fischer and Joakim Mæhle have both been declared fit to play for Die Wölfe.
