Jude Bellingham has been named in the Real Madrid squad for tomorrow night’s Champions League group-stage opener against Marseille.
The England midfielder underwent shoulder surgery on July 16 and was expected to be out of action for three months with Madrid not expecting him back until mid-October.
However, just 61 days later he has trained fully and could be on the bench for the game against Roberto De Zerbi’s men at the Santiago Bernabeu.

His return will be welcomed by boss Xabi Alonso as Madrid attempt to reclaim the Champions League trophy they lost to Paris Saint-Germain last season.
Bellingham dislocated his shoulder playing for Madrid against Rayo Vallecano in November 2023 but opted to delay surgery and attempt to play through it.
However, he finally ceded and went under the knife after Madrid’s exit from the Club World Cup in the summer.
