Wednesday’s reports claim that Milan are eyeing a potential move for Italy international Moise Kean during the summer transfer window, but the Rossoneri are hoping to avoid having to pay the €62m release clause in the 25-year-old’s contract.
Milan were looking to add another centre-forward to their ranks during the January transfer window. They brought in Niclas Fullkrug from West Ham and also had an agreement in place with Crystal Palace for Jean-Philippe Mateta for a fee in the region of €35m.
The Rossoneri then decided against signing the Frenchman after his medical, with fears that he would need surgery on a knee issue.
In the end, Milan did not bring in another attacker after the Mateta deal fell through, but there have already been reports that they will look to reassess their striking situation in the summer.
Milan are still said to be keen on a potential deal for Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic, who is currently set to be out of contract at the end of the season. Commission fees, which could be as high as €20m according to the latest reports, mean that a deal for the Serbian is still not particularly straightforward, though.
Now, according to reports from Calciomercato.com, Milan are considering a potential deal for Fiorentina striker Kean.
Kean is a player that Massimiliano Allegri knows well from their time together at Juventus, and the current Fiorentina man is understood to be good friends with star Rossoneri attacker Rafael Leao.
Kean extended his contract with Fiorentina over the summer, signing until the summer of 2029. As part of that new contract, there is also a release clause reported to be worth €62m, which will be valid from July 1 until July 15.
Milan, however, are unwilling to pay this amount and are hoping that Fiorentina might consider lower, but still respectable offers for the former Juventus striker.
