Lorenzo Lucca has been on English soil for just over a week, but has already earned a new nickname following his transfer from Napoli to Nottingham Forest: ‘Pizza Crouch’.
Lucca left Napoli after just six months during the January transfer window in order to join Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. The five-time Italy international joined Sean Dyche’s side on an initial loan deal until the end of the 2025-26 season with an option to buy in the region of €35m-€40m.
The 6’7 centre-forward has already drawn comparisons and an endearing nickname nodding to former England international Peter Crouch, also famously standing above two metres in height. Adding in an additional Italian twist, supporters online have already begun referring to Lucca as ‘Pizza Crouch’.
Forest have played two Premier League matches since the Italian’s transfer went through on January 23. He was not in the squad for the 2-0 victory over Brentford two days later and was named as an unused substitute for the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace over the weekend.
Prior to his Premier League switch, Lucca had recorded one goal from 16 outings in Serie A.
