Tottenham showed real fight at the weekend, clawing their way back from two goals down to earn a morale-boosting draw against Manchester City.
Dominic Solanke, only recently back from injury, stole the headlines with a stunning second-half brace that included an outrageous scorpion-kick finish to rescue a vital point for Thomas Frank’s under-pressure side.
While Solanke’s return is a major positive, Spurs remain short in attack and know they need extra firepower if they are to climb the table.
With the transfer window ticking down, an unexpected opportunity has now been placed on their desk.
Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign striker Jhon Duran in the final hours of the January window, according to TEAMtalk.
The Colombia international’s representatives are scrambling to find him a Premier League move after a proposed transfer to Lille collapsed late on, leaving his future unresolved heading into deadline day.
Duran enjoyed an explosive end to his spell at Aston Villa last season, scoring 12 goals in just over 1,000 minutes before completing a £71m switch to Al-Nassr in January 2025. Despite adding another 12 goals in Saudi Arabia to take his tally for the campaign to 24, the 22-year-old struggled to settle and was loaned to Fenerbahçe last summer.
Game time has been limited in Turkey, prompting Duran — once described as “very talented” by former Colombia international Teófilo Gutiérrez — to push for a swift exit. Intermediaries are now working on a return to England, with Spurs among the clubs made aware of his availability.
TEAMtalk adds that Leeds United, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have also been sounded out as potential destinations.
With proven Premier League pedigree and a natural hunger to re-establish himself in England, Duran represents a high-upside, late-window option for Spurs. If Tottenham decide to act, a deadline-day deal could add much-needed depth and competition up front.
Over the years, he's had the pleasure of interviewing some of the biggest names in world sport, including Usain Bolt, Rafael Nadal, Christian Pulisic, and more.
