West Ham are considering loan deals for Tottenham keeper Antonin Kinsky and Chelsea defender Axel Disasi. The Hammers are looking to strengthen their defence before this week’s transfer deadline, having already bolstered their attack this month.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side signed Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe for a package worth up to £47m, and now want to bring in a goalkeeper and defender in their battle against relegation. The Guardian has reported that West Ham are keen to utilize the Premier League’s two domestic loan slots allowance, and have cut short Igor Julio’s loan from Brighton to free up one slot.
The Hammers have identified Kinsky and Disasi as the two loans to bolster a defence that hasn’t kept a clean sheet since August. The club has inquired about a loan deal with an option to buy Spurs keeper Kinsky. Kinsky joined Spurs from Slavia Prague just last summer but has struggled to dislodge Guglielmo Vicario as first choice.
The 22-year-old is seeking regular first team football, and would likely need assurance that he will play ahead of Hammers first choice Alphonse Areola. A move for Kinsky would also leave Nuno Espirito Santo needing to find a solution for current No. 2, Mads Hermansen.
Chelsea defender Disasi has not played for Chelsea this season and is up for sale. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, making seven Premier League appearances.
West Ham are seeking an initial loan for the player before assessing whether or not to pursue a permanent deal in the summer. With just three days remaining in the window, West Ham will be hoping to conclude their business soon.
Midfielder James Ward-Prowse is a player who could be on his way out, having been frozen out of the squad by Nuno. Ward-Prowse was named in the match-day squad for the first time under Nuno for last Saturday’s win over Sunderland but did not appear.
The player has interest from Burnley who have inquired about a loan with no buy obligation. West Ham have also agreed a deal to sign Fulham winger Adama Traore on an initial six-month deal. The winger played for Nuno at Wolves and will provide cover for Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville.
