Serie A | Lazio 0-3 Como – Nico Paz the star of the show as Como cruise in capital

Lazio were comfortably beaten by Como at the Stadio Olimpico this evening, with Cesc Fabregas’ side winning 3-0 in the Italian capital.

Football Italia’s Player of the Match was Nico Paz – who scored a wonderful brace and excelled, despite having a penalty saved by Ivan Provedel.

Lazio: Provedel 6.5; Marusic 4.5, Gila 5, Romagnoli 5, Pellegrini 4.5 (Lazzari 5.5); Belahyane 5, Cataldi 5 (Rovella 5.5), Taylor 4.5; Cancellieri 4.5 (Isaksen 5.5), Ratkov 5 (Noslin 5.5), Zaccagni 5

Best Lazio player: Ivan Provedel – It’s extremely telling when the best performer on a team is a goalkeeper on the receiving end of three goals conceded. However, the Lazio shot stopper denied Paz from the spot and pulled off a good save late on to deny Ramon.

Lowest Lazio rating: Matteo Cancellieri – For a player linked with a big-money move to the Premier League, the young Italian is certainly not impressing as of late. Another dismal performance from the winger, who was replaced by Isaksen before the hour mark.

Coach: Maurizio Sarri 5 – Took too long to make changes, had his team sit back far too much – just outplayed by his counterpart on the night.

Como: Butez 6.5; Smolcic 6 (Posch 6), Ramon 6.5, Diego Carlos 6, Valle 6.5; Perrone 6.5, Da Cunha 6.5; Rodriguez 6, Paz 8, Baturina 8 (Vojvoda N/A), Caqueret 6.5 (Sergi Roberto 6)

Best Como player: Nico Paz – Despite having a penalty saved, the Argentine was excellent tonight. Whilst Baturina also impressed, Paz’s second goal was particularly impressive.

Lowest Como rating: Ivan Smolcic – Taken off at half-time after getting booked in the first half for a poor challenge on Zaccagni, wasn’t the sharpest on the night but Como’s performance on the whole was very good.

Coach: Cesc Fabregas 7.5 – Excellent choices all night from the coach, who came up against former mentor Sarri tonight. The student got one over on his old master tonight, as Como’s charge for a European place continues to pick up pace.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
