Chiesa’s lack of game time gives Juventus hope despite Liverpool’s demands

Federico Chiesa has been struggling for playing time even during Mohamed Salah’s absence at Liverpool, so the Italian remains on the Juventus radar despite the Reds’ demands.

Juventus continue to monitor Liverpool winger Chiesa, but the Bianconeri are struggling to reach an agreement with the Reds.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Chiesa’s playing time hasn’t increased while Salah was away on Egypt international duty for AFCON.

The former Roma ace missed seven matches across all competitions during the Africa Cup of Nations, but Chiesa only started twice and spent one match, against Arsenal, entirely on the bench.

Chiesa only played one minute against Tottenham, 11 against Leeds, five against Fulham and three against Burnley in the Premier League.

He was subbed off after 61 minutes of a home Premier League game against Wolves on December 27 and received similar playing time (60 minutes) in the FA Cup against Barnsley last week.

Chiesa hasn’t scored or assisted while Salah was away for AFCON, and the Egyptian’s future at Anfield might play a role in Chiesa’s future.

If Liverpool and Salah agree to continue together until the end of the season, despite recent disagreements between the striker and coach Arne Slot, then Chiesa will likely get even less playing time in the second part of the campaign.

Juventus are willing to bring the player back on loan with an option to buy, but Liverpool have maintained that they’ll only discuss a permanent transfer worth up to €20m.

Quick take: Big picture: the update fits broader trends across the league with schedule pressure and tight tables. Supporters will watch for clarity from training ground reports and official briefings. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
