Sky Sport Italia reports that Roma striker Artem Dovbyk will have to undergo surgery following an injury to his left thigh, remaining out of action for at least two months.
Roma will be forced to cope withour Dovbyk for two months as the Ukraine international will undergo surgery next week.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Dvbyk has suffered a myotendinous lesion of his left thigh, and his surgery will be performed in Finland on Monday.
It will be in the same clinic where Lorenzo Pellegrini underwent surgery earlier this season due to another high-degree muscle injury.
Dovbyk suffered his latest fitness issue on January 6, during a 2-0 win over Lecce, in which the ex-Girona star scored a goal as a substitute.
The 28-year-old will return to action in April, which also means Roma’s plans to sell him during the January transfer window have fallen through.
Roma have signed Robinio Vaz and Donyell Malen as attacking reinforcements in the January window and were eager to listen to offers for Dovbyk, who has netted three times in 17 appearances across all competitions this season.
