PSG weighing up move for “fantastic” Chelsea star with 11 G/A this season

Chelsea’s early momentum under Liam Rosenior stalled on Tuesday night as Arsenal claimed a 3–2 victory at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.

A brace from Alejandro Garnacho proved in vain, leaving the Blues with work to do ahead of the return fixture.

Away from the pitch, uncertainty is beginning to swirl around one of Chelsea’s most influential figures.

According to reports in France, Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up a potential move for Enzo Fernandez.

The Argentine midfielder arrived in west London in 2023 for a then-record £107 million fee and has remained a central figure despite recent upheaval at the club.

Fernandez registered 11 goal contributions this season and was described as “fantastic” by former head coach Enzo Maresca, whose abrupt departure earlier this month has reshaped Chelsea’s hierarchy.

Fernandez admitted he was “sad” to see Maresca leave, speaking candidly after scoring a stoppage-time equaliser against Manchester City shortly after the Italian’s dismissal. That emotional response has only fuelled speculation about his long-term future.

French outlet L’Équipe claim PSG are monitoring the situation closely, with Luis Enrique keen to strengthen his midfield around Vitinha. While the Ligue 1 champions are not desperate to sell, internal doubts over Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz have reportedly prompted PSG to explore elite alternatives.

For now, Chelsea remain reluctant to entertain offers, but with PSG circling and instability lingering at Stamford Bridge, Fernandez’s situation is one to watch closely as the window progresses.
