La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Napoli have reached an agreement with the agents of João Gomes for next season, but the Partenopei still need to strike a deal with Wolves.
Napoli have reached an agreement with Wolves midfielder João Gomes for a transfer to the Stadio Maradona in 2026-27.
According to Gazzetta, Napoli director Giovanni Manna is a big admirer of the Brazilian, so he has moved quickly to book a move for next summer.
João Gomes, however, has a long-term contract with Wolves, given that his deal expires in 2030 and even includes an option to extend for a further campaign.
Therefore, Napoli must negotiate with the English club that sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with just seven points in 21 games.
Napoli have made several purchases from the Premier League in recent years, including André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Billy Gilmour, Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund.
João Gomes joined Wolves from Flamengo in an €18.7m deal in 2023. He has provided one assist in 24 appearances across all competitions this season.
