
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has praised Ghanaian football fans for the passion, colour, and energy they bring to the global stage, following the Black Stars qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a video message after Ghanas 10 victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday night, a result that confirmed their place at next years tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Infantino commended both the players and their supporters, describing the moment as significant for Ghana and African football.
The FIFA President lauded Ghanas vibrant supporters for their ability to create unforgettable atmospheres on the world stage, noting that their enthusiasm has long enriched the World Cup experience.
Infantino also expressed optimism that the Black Stars could emulate their historic 2010 campaign in South Africa, where Ghana reached the quarter-finals and came within inches of becoming the first African team to reach the semi-finals.
Ghanas qualification marks their fifth appearance at footballs biggest event, having first debuted in 2006.
The four-time African champions will now shift focus to preparations for the 2026 World Cup, aiming to make another deep run on the global stage.
The draw for the Mundial is scheduled for December 5 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
